Many times I hear that voice... but over the past year I kept painting and moving forward and I listen to it less often. I shut it out with the sound of a palette knife pulling paint on my canvas and whatever music gives me the best vibes. When that voice within me starts to say "okay, maybe you can paint"... then I try and believe it. I don't have a clue where all this painting will take me, but I feel like all the good and the bad in my life has led me to this place, and I'm grateful for it.
I just finished "Texas Blue"... 36x48in Oil on Canvas. It brings a trio of Bluebonnets into focus against a whimsical backdrop of a Springtime field of color. Bluebonnets cheer up Texas after our mild, but mostly brown winter. Seeing the roadsides and parks filled with these flowers gives hope of new life and beginnings every spring. People take the extra drive and brave the roadside flower picture just to pay respect to the hill country blue beauties. I hope this painting will bring with it a reminder of what is to come, and to enjoy the natural beauty God gives us Texans every Spring.
